I remember when my father handed me my first camera, an Ansco Pioneer 620. I was about four years old, and we headed off to the Druid Hill Park Zoo in Baltimore, Maryland. As I stood in front of the bears – or they stood in front of me – I took my first photos. I was immediately hooked on both photography and bears. I still have that camera right here next to me.

The words photographer, healer, writer, gardener, and much more could all be used to describe me. I majored in photojournalism and public relations in college and took advanced courses in photography later on. Since I realized I needed to make an actual living, I worked for the Federal government for about 30 years in public affairs, policy analysis, and knowledge management.

For many years, photography was my healing center, where I found peace and a certain energetic flow. When I took photos and in the darkroom, I lost all sense of time and space. It was as though I found myself in a new dimension. I was able to take photos at my various jobs and felt very fortunate. My photography has ranged from photos of autistic children to industrial photography to nature and environmental photography to much more.

I cannot remember a time I did not meditate, and I consider myself to be a very spiritual person. In 2008, the healing and spiritual side of me blossomed as I became a Usui Reiki Master, teaching students on all levels of Usui Reiki. I did not know it then, but this would eventually join with my photographic interests, as well.

The spiritual and visual side side of me intensified even more after a seizure, where I started seeing energies of all sorts. I could see everyone’s aura, including the aura of rocks, trees, and animals. I could see energies in the air as well. I told a friend about this, and he suggested I try to take photos of what I was seeing in the air, and he felt a digital camera could do this. I have been taking photos like the one’s you see on this website for years now (mainly with a Nikon CoolPix 500) and I have noticed the energies are changing. I know they come when I am happy, when I sing, when I pray…. When I see them, I feel blissful. My heart feels totally open.

I cannot explain why they have come, what messages they may be carrying, where they come from, what they are, why me, or anything else. I do feel they are a clear message that we are not alone in this world, and that, perhaps, there are other dimensions that exist along with our own. It has taken me a long time to be able to share these images, and I am thrilled to be able to do so.
